Job Overview:Oliver Wyman’s Transportation and Advanced Industrials (TAI) practice creates connections across transportation, mobility, automotive, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, and other industrial goods. For more information, visit The Manager (Digital Services) will be part of a high-impact team that assists aviation clients in the selection, implementation and optimization, including data analytics, of aviation systems. They will either lead or be part of the team leading client engagements, on-site or remotely, and perform all project related duties, including client advisory and project management.In addition to client related duties, they will help drive the growth of the Digital Services practice through business development, intellectual capital creation and team advancement, through the mentoring, and career development of their advisees.Key Responsibilities:ConsultingCollaborate with clients to understand their unique digital transformation needsConduct / support workshops to assess IT strategy and identify opportunities for leveraging digital solutions to enhance operational excellenceDrive / support client projects focused on the selection, implementation, and optimization of digital systems for the commercial aviation, aerospace, defense and rail industry sectorsLead / support data migration efforts and leverage data analytics for strategic insightsAssist with resource planning and directing the daily project assignments for client engagementsAbility to be on site at client facilities as neededBusiness DevelopmentParticipate in the identification, execution and closing of business development activities, as requiredSupport project scoping, labor estimating, and statement of work creation, including commercial termsBe a member of the Oliver Wyman Vector’s Digital Services leadership team, participating in meetings and events, as requiredContinuous Improvement:Evaluate existing processes and implement optimized workflows that leverage digital tools to enhance efficiencyDrive innovation in operational practices, advocating for and implementing best practices in digital service deliveryWork within AS9100 framework (inherent within Oliver Wyman Vector) to promote and ensure quality and consistency within all processes during project executionSupport the execution of strategic initiatives related to AI integration and capability developmentMentoring and Development:Mentor junior team members in digital practices and methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with company values and goalsSupport career development, reviews, coaching and leading team membersPromote knowledge sharing within the team to ensure the successful delivery of digital services and projectsQualifications10+ years of experience in aviation, specifically in Maintenance and Engineering / Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) system implementation, or Fight Operations system implementation, development or salesBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or 10-12 years of relevant experience as a system administrator, or as part of a TechOps or Flight Operations OrganizationProven experience with data migration and data analyticsExperience in implementing M&E systems, such as AMOS, IFS, SAP/iMRO, TRAX, or Flight Operations / Crew systems, such as AIMS, CAE / Sabre, Jeppesen, NAVBLUE, or similar industry systemsUnderstanding of regulatory requirements within the aviation sector is highly desiredStrong stakeholder management and consulting experience is highly desiredFunctional expertise in one or more of the following areas preferred: Engineering, Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Execution, Supply Chain, Flight OperationsExperience in AI applications is highly desiredRequired Skills:Expert skills in PowerPoint, Excel and other project management tools (such as Smartsheet)Strong leadership and team management capabilitiesSkills in change management and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to identify client pain points and opportunities, propose, scope and estimate solutions, and prepare and present proposalsExperience with client relationship managementRecommended / Nice to have Skills:Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and cybersecurity measuresExperience with programming languages such as Python, R, SQL would be an asset (preferred)Values and Culture Fit / Other:Alignment with Oliver Wyman’s core values: Be Brave, Lead With Heart, Strive For Breakthroughs, Work As One, Own Our ImpactTravel to client site may be required depending on case needs, so applicants must be able to travel up to 50% of the timeAbout Oliver WymanOliver Wyman is a global leader in management consulting.
