Senior Packaging Designer (Luxury / Premium Experience)

Looking for a Senior Packaging Designer to create a high-end, custom packaging experience for a flagship hardware product. This role is focused on designing a premium, "wow factor" unboxing experience for VIP customers, drawing inspiration from best-in-class brands like Apple.This is a highly specialized, short-term engagement requiring someone who can own the process end-to-end, from concept through prototype, and collaborate with external fabrication partners to bring the vision to life.About Crawford Group.We are revolutionizing how marketing gets done! At Crawford Group we believe in developing collaborative customer relationships to create the best talent solution for their marketing organization's needs.Responsibilities:Lead the end-to-end design of a luxury packaging system, from concept through production-ready filesDevelop a premium unboxing experience that elevates brand perception and customer experienceTranslate brand guidelines into a cohesive physical product experienceCreate and present multiple design concepts to senior creative stakeholdersDrive design iterations and refinement based on feedbackPartner with external vendors to prototype and fabricate packaging solutionsAdvise on materials, finishes, and structural design, balancing aesthetics, cost, and feasibilityEnsure final deliverables are ready for production with external manufacturing partnersIncorporate sustainability considerations (e.g., FSC-certified materials) where possibleQualifications: 5+ years of packaging design experience, with a strong focus on premium or luxury productsProven portfolio showcasing high-end packaging and unboxing experiences (not just concepts, but produced work)Experience working with or drawing inspiration from top-tier brands (e.g., Apple-level craft and detail)Strong understanding of materials, dielines, printing, and fabrication processesExperience collaborating with external vendors, prototypers, and manufacturersAbility to present and defend design decisions to senior stakeholdersStrong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environmentExperience blending packaging and industrial design thinkingBackground working with small-batch or custom fabrication projectsFamiliarity with sustainable packaging practices and certificationsLocation: Can work remotely from within the U.S.Duration: Full-time, consulting. 30-60 days.Rate: $65-$75/hour W-2 consultant of Crawford Group; benefits available if eligible (Our hourly ranges are determined based on skills, experience and location)Committed to Diversity.
