Job Title: Cath Lab RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: 3 Years Required (will accept first-time travelers with proven background) License: RN State License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI (on-site during orientation); NIH Preferred Must-Have: Active State License Two satisfactory professional references needed from most recent employers: one supervisor/manager and one charge RN Description: Cath Lab RN position for day shifts working 4x10s. On-call responsibilities include being within a 30-minute arrival time when scheduled. One scheduled late shift per week to accommodate cases that run over. Average daily census is 7-14 cases. The department has two cath lab rooms. Patient diagnoses include Acute Coronary Syndrome, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, AFIB, and Bradycardia. Common procedures performed are Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Pacemaker insertions, Loop monitors, TEE, and Cardioversions. Equipment used includes Balloon Pump and IVUS. Scrubs are royal blue. Floating to pre-op/PACU within specialty as needed is required. Weekend and holiday coverage is required based on department needs and on-call schedules. Candidates must be comfortable floating within their experience scope. Return travelers must have been away for at least six months. All candidates must have been gone for 12 months before returning as a traveler if previously employed in the system. Candidates must comply with health and safety regulations, including infection prevention and isolation precautions. Monitoring procedural sedation, starting and maintaining IVs, and understanding various cardiac procedures are essential skills for this role. Travelers are required to complete labs within 72 hours of signing the contract.
