Job DescriptionWarehouse / Inventory ManagerReports to: COO / Operations DirectorDepartment: OperationsPosition SummaryThe Warehouse & Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and material flow across converting and distribution functions. This role ensures inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, efficient space utilization, and cost-effective operations while supporting production and customer service objectives.Key Responsibilities1. Warehouse Operations ManagementOversee daily warehouse activities: receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and shippingManage raw materials (jumbo rolls), WIP, and finished goods inventoryOptimize warehouse layout for efficient material flow and space utilizationEnsure proper handling of paper rolls to prevent damage, moisture exposure, and wasteEstablish and enforce SOPs for all warehouse functions2. Inventory Control & AccuracyMaintain ≥98–99% inventory accuracy across all locationsLead cycle count program and annual physical inventoryInvestigate and resolve discrepancies (root cause analysis)Manage lot tracking, FIFO/FEFO practices where applicableMonitor slow-moving, obsolete, and damaged inventory3. Production & Converting SupportCoordinate material staging for converting lines and rewind stationsEnsure timely delivery of raw materials to productionWork closely with scheduling to align inventory availability with production plansTrack WIP movement between work centers4. Shipping, Logistics & DistributionOversee outbound shipping (LTL, FTL, parcel)Ensure accurate and on-time order fulfillmentManage carrier relationships and freight cost controlVerify shipping documentation, labeling, and customer compliance requirementsSupport high-volume distribution workflows5. Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, train, and supervise warehouse staff (supervisors, leads, forklift operators, pickers)Set performance expectations and KPIsDrive accountability, productivity, and safety cultureManage staffing levels, scheduling, and labor efficiency6. Systems & Process ImprovementUtilize ERP/WMS systems (e.g., **NetSuite or similar) for inventory and transaction controlImplement barcode scanning and inventory tracking improvementsDevelop and refine SOPs for scalabilityLead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, waste reduction)7. Safety & ComplianceEnforce OSHA and company safety standardsEnsure proper forklift operation, racking safety, and material handling proceduresMaintain clean, organized warehouseSupport audits (internal and customer audits)8. Financial & KPI AccountabilityManage warehouse labor and operating costsTrack and report key metrics:Inventory accuracyOrder fulfillment rate (OTIF)Picking accuracyInventory turnsDamage and scrap ratesLabor productivityIdentify cost-saving opportunitiesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (preferred)7–10+ years of warehouse/inventory management experienceExperience in paper converting, printing, or manufacturing environments strongly preferredExperience managing high-SKU and roll-based inventory is a plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong inventory control and reconciliation expertiseDeep understanding of warehouse operations and material flowERP/WMS proficiency (NetSuite or similar)Leadership and team development skillsAnalytical and problem-solving abilityStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environmentWork EnvironmentWarehouse and production floor settingExposure to heavy machinery, forklifts, and large paper rollsRequires standing, walking, and occasional lifting is required.
