Professional services experience is a plus.An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a plus, however we value professional experience just as much – if not more!For this position, you are welcome to work fully remote, Hybrid, or come into our office.BKBY is conveniently and centrally located in the Heights area of Houston, TX - near Memorial Park.Senior Bookkeeper Responsibilities include, (but are not limited) to:Prepare for review, monthly financial close activities through preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis while ensuring the proper timelines are followedRecord day to day financial transactions and complete posting in both AP/ARReconcile daily invoices and monthly statements and pay them by scheduling and preparing checks and credit card payments, reconcile bank and credit card statements, based on the needs of each clientMaintain records, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailAnalyze transactions and prepare reportsPrepare Sales & Use Tax, Quarterly Estimates, Year End 1099 forms for final reviewContribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions and timely responsesStay informed on industry developments and changes in regulationsAbility to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objective, within first weekGood research and analysis skillsAll other duties as assignedSenior Bookkeeper Required Skills and Experience:20+ years of experience in Full Charge, Multi-Client Bookkeeping. Must have thorough knowledge and experience with QuickBooks OnlineAdvanced level of proficiency with MS ExcelExcellent analytical skill with an attention to detail, strong organization, resourcefulness, multi-tasking, and time-management skillsExperience with managing multiple clientsEnthusiastic, positive, and collaborative; Ability to work independently and effectively with staff and clientsGood judgment and creative problem-solving skillsAbility to explain complex accounting data in a simple wayIntegrity, with an ability to handle confidential informationStrong understanding of generally accepted accounting principlesHighly proficient knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles experienceStrong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills, with ability to balance competing prioritiesAbility to effectively present information, communicate with, and respond to questions from co-workers, management, and external groupsContinuous improvement mindset and the ability to adapt to changing demandsHighly analytical, high degree of accuracy and attention to detailPayroll Specialist Responsibilities include (but are not limited) to:Has long-term experience with multiple payroll software(s), including: Quickbooks Online, Quickbooks Desktop, Others, including ADP, GUSTO, Insperity, TriNet, Paychex, etc.,Address employee payroll questionsProcess (accurate and timely) payrollSubmit payroll tax reportsProcess employee garnishment deductionsGenerate payroll reportsReconcile monthly & annual payroll dataCollect timesheet dataMaintain personnel databaseMaintain employee recordsCorrect paychecksFile payroll tax returnsConfirm timesheet accuracyMaintain confidential payroll data with integritySupervise data entry to ensure accuracy. Implement processes to eliminate payroll fraudResolve payroll issuesEnsures all payroll deductions, such as taxes, and other deductions, are correctly calculated and posted. Post time and attendance into the payroll system. Ensure compliance with all policy and statutory requirementsPlans and executes payroll adjustmentsSecures necessary approvals & authorizationsSetup new employees within payroll software(s)Terminates employees appropriatelyProcesses off-cycle payroll as necessaryPrepare payroll journal entriesSetup payroll mapping to accounting software(s)All other duties as assignedPayroll Specialist Skills and Experience:Ability to handle confidential information.
