HR Specialist

Overview As an HR Specialist, you get to support the execution of people strategies and HR programs that build a strong foundation for our business and workforce. You will serve as a knowledgeable resource to managers and employees within your region on Human Resources-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy administration, and compliance. HR plays an important role in all businesses, but as a true partner in 48forty, the HR Specialist is vital to the success of our overall business! What You'll Do Build positive working relationships across assigned locations and with the HR team to support managers and employees with day-to-day HR needsAssist in addressing employee relations matters by helping to document, escalate, and support the investigation process under the guidance of senior HR team membersSupport field management with basic performance management activities including documentation, coaching conversations, and disciplinary action processesRespond to HR-related questions and requests from managers and employees, escalating more complex matters to senior HR staff as neededAssist in gathering and compiling HR data and metrics to support reporting and program initiativesDevelop a foundational understanding of applicable employment laws and company policies to help ensure consistent and compliant HR practices across US and Canadian locationsSupport efforts to promote a positive workplace culture by assisting with employee engagement activities and retention initiativesCommunicate and reinforce HR policies and procedures to employees and managers at assigned locationsAssist in supporting workforce planning and onboarding activities as directed by HR leadershipHelp identify and communicate training needs at assigned locations and assist in coordinating training logistics and tracking completion What You'll Need Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related fieldHR Certification (SHRM/PHR) preferredThorough knowledge of labor legislation, including Canada3-5 years HR business partner experience requiredExperience working in a manufacturing environment, preferredExperience working and supporting Canada OperationsBroad working knowledge of all aspects of HR functions and business processes Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyProficient in Data Analytics, Microsoft Office and general computer skills Strong planning and execution skillsSolid cross-functional collaboration and communication skillsStrong writing, interpersonal and presentation skills Bilingual abilities (English and French) What We Offer Competitive Pay, Holiday Pay, and Daily Pay – Access to your earned wages before payday!
