A global, privately held organization with a diversified portfolio is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join its U.S. corporate leadership team. This highly visible role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership while overseeing key HR operational functions across a multi-entity, multi-state environment.The Director of Human Resources will lead key initiatives related to employee benefits, retirement plan governance, payroll administration, talent acquisition, leadership development, and employee relations while helping drive a collaborative and people-focused culture across the organization. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution.Salary + Additional Benefits:$150,000 - $200,000 (Depending on Experience)Annual Bonus OpportunityMedical, Dental, Vision Insurance401K - company matchLocation: Hybrid – Houston, TXType of Position: Direct HireResponsibilities:Oversee the strategy, administration, and continuous improvement of comprehensive employee benefits programs across multiple entitiesManage broker and vendor relationships, plan renewals, cost containment initiatives, employee communications, and compliance activitiesEvaluate benefit offerings and recommend enhancements aligned with organizational goals and employee experience initiativesEnsure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations related to benefits, retirement plans, payroll, and HR operationsLead retirement plan administration and governance activities, including fiduciary oversight, committee coordination, investment review processes, annual audits, compliance testing, and regulatory filingsPartner closely with external advisors, recordkeepers, auditors, and legal partners to ensure ongoing compliance and effective plan administrationSupport participant education and engagement initiatives designed to promote long-term retirement readinessOversee corporate payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across a multi-state environmentPartner cross-functionally with finance and leadership teams on payroll reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement initiativesLead full-cycle recruiting efforts for select corporate and professional-level positionsPartner with hiring leaders to identify talent needs, align hiring strategies, and support a positive candidate experienceOversee a structured leadership development and rotational trainee programCoordinate onboarding, relocation logistics, mentorship support, and cross-functional development opportunities for program participantsPartner with business leaders to identify long-term development opportunities and succession pathways for high-potential talentServe as a trusted HR partner to leadership and employees by supporting employee relations matters, performance management conversations, and organizational initiativesDevelop and enhance HR policies, procedures, and programs that support a collaborative, professional, and people-focused culturePartner with executive leadership on organizational planning, workforce initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across the HR functionRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field requiredAdvanced degree and/or HR certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, etc.) strongly preferred10+ years of progressive HR experience within complex, multi-location organizations, 5+ years within a senior leadership positionStrong expertise in employee benefits administration and 401(k)/retirement plan governance requiredExperience managing vendor relationships, compliance initiatives, and HR operational processes across multiple entities and/or statesStrong understanding of ERISA, benefits compliance, payroll regulations, and HR best practicesExperience supporting payroll operations within a multi-state environmentExecutive-level communication and relationship management skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organizationProven ability to operate effectively in both strategic and hands-on environmentsAdaptable, collaborative, and comfortable managing shifting priorities within a fast-paced organizationExperience supporting leadership development, trainee, or rotational programs preferredHigh level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgmentPassion for talent development and building future leadersDue to the high volume of applications we typically receive, we regret that we are not able to personally respond to all applications.
