Assistant Production Manager
The Production Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of a food manufacturing facility specializing in cake icing and cake decorating products. This position ensures production goals are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating production schedules, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
Assist in planning and executing production schedules to meet customer demand.
Monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of orders.
Support process improvements to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
Team Supervision
Lead and motivate production line staff, ensuring adherence to company policies.
Provide training and coaching to employees on equipment use and safety practices.
Manage shift coverage, attendance, and assist with performance evaluations.
Quality Assurance
Ensure products meet food safety and quality standards (FDA, GMP, HACCP).
Collaborate with Quality Control to address deviations and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce workplace safety protocols and conduct regular safety checks.
Report and resolve equipment issues promptly.
Support compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audits.
Communication & Reporting
Act as a liaison between production staff and management.
Prepare daily/weekly reports on production output, efficiency, and challenges.
Contribute to cross-functional meetings with Supply Chain, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in food manufacturing or production supervision.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or shifts, as needed.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
