This role operates in a high‑stakes, innovation‑driven setting that is a key technical resource, supporting the mission‑critical Windows platforms that underpin semiconductor manufacturing operations.Position Summary:The Windows System Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing optimization of Windows Server environments across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms. This role requires a solid foundation in system administration, scripting automation, and disaster‑recovery planning, with an emphasis on improving reliability and performance.Responsibilities: Server Lifecycle Management - Deploy, configure, and decommission Windows Server instances (Physical, VMware, Citrix/Horizon) following change‑management proceduresAdvanced PowerShell Automation - Develop reusable scripts for provisioning, patch management, and health monitoring; integrate scripts with orchestration toolsCluster & High‑Availability - Design and maintain Windows Server Failover Clustering, configure AD replication, and manage Wsus distribution pointsDisaster Recovery - Create and test DR plans; manage backups (NetBackup/Legato/Avamar) and storage snapshotsTechnical Consultation - Provide guidance to development teams on OS compatibility, performance tuning, and system interface designDocumentation & Knowledge Sharing - Author detailed runbooks; lead internal knowledge‑transfer sessionsOn‑Call Support - Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to address urgent incidents outside regular hoursRequirements3‑5 years of professional experience as a Windows Systems Engineer in enterprise environmentsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)Expert PowerShell scripting (module creation, error handling)Deep knowledge of AD, DNS, DFS, WSUS, and Failover ClusteringHands‑on experience with VMware vSphere and Citrix/Horizon virtualizationFamiliarity with backup solutions (NetBackup/Legato/Avamar)Strong analytical abilities, proactive problem solving, ability to work independently yet effectively within cross‑functional teamsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with enterprise storage arrays (PowerPlex, PowerVault, Isilon, NetApp, Pure Storage)Exposure to BMC/iDRAC/iLO hardware management for firmware updates and health monitoringCertifications: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate; VMware Certified Professional (VCP)BenefitsSamsung SDSA offers a competitive salary, and a comprehensive suite of programs to support our employees:Top-notch medical, dental, vision and prescription coverageWellness programParental leave401K match and savings planFlexible spending accountsLife insurancePaid HolidaysPaid Time offAdditional benefitsSamsung SDS America, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
