This role operates in a high‑stakes, innovation‑driven setting that is a key technical resource, supporting the mission‑critical Windows platforms that underpin semiconductor manufacturing operations.Position Summary:The Senior Windows Systems Engineer is responsible for administering and supporting a complex Windows server environment that includes physical systems, VMware‑based virtual infrastructure, Citrix, and Horizon platforms. This role provides deep technical expertise in Windows operating systems, ensuring that server configurations, deployments, and integrations follow architectural standards and support the performance and stability requirements of the manufacturing environment. While not a formal manager, the role frequently provides technical leadership across multiple projects and may supervise administrators on a day‑to‑day basis.This is a full-time onsite role in Taylor, TX.Responsibilities:Configure, administer and support enterprise‑scale Windows Server environments across on‑premise, physical, virtual, VMware, Citrix, and Horizon platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and securityServe as the subject‑matter expert for Windows OS architecture, providing guidance on system design, integration, and best practices for enterprise deploymentsArchitect, build, and sustain highly available Windows Server solutions, including multi‑node clusters, AD forest/replication design, WSUS hierarchies, and disaster‑recovery plans that are regularly testedMonitor system health using Windows and VMware event logs, performance reports, and web log files; identify anomalies and document corrective actions through established change‑management processesOwn the creation of sophisticated PowerShell/Desired State Configuration pipelines that automate end‑to‑end server provisioning, configuration compliance, and patch lifecycle managementMaintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, procedures, and architectural updates to ensure operational continuity and team knowledge sharingDeliver hands‑on training, mentorship, and informal knowledge transfer to engineers and support staff to strengthen team capabilityRespond to urgent and escalated support cases—including after‑hours and weekend incidents—to maintain uninterrupted operations in mission‑critical environmentsParticipate in infrastructure planning, lifecycle management, and modernization initiatives to enhance system reliability and scalabilityCollaborate with cross‑functional teams to support production systems, resolve complex issues, and ensure alignment with organizational security and compliance standardsRequirementsQualifications: 7+ years of progressive experience as a Windows Systems Engineer supporting large‑scale, multi‑platform enterprise environments; at least 3 years in a senior or lead technical roleBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience; relevant certifications (MCSE, VCP, etc.) preferredExtensive hands‑on experience with VMware VCF, Windows Server platforms, and virtualized infrastructure operationsAdvanced PowerShell scripting expertise with the ability to automate administrative tasks, build custom tools, and streamline operational workflowsDeep proficiency with Active Directory Services, including DNS, Group Policy Management, domain replication, OU design, and identity/security administrationStrong background in Windows clustering technologies, AD maintenance, and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) configuration and supportAdvanced troubleshooting of storage platforms (PowerPlex, PowerVault, Isilon, NetApp, Pure Storage) and BMC/iDRAC/iLO hardware managementDemonstrated capability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively on cross‑functional engineering projectsExperience designing and implementing Windows‑based solutions in high‑availability, mission‑critical environmentsStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, virtualization concepts, and enterprise security practicesCommunicate clearly and partner with technical and non‑technical stakeholdersProvide effective knowledge transfer to peersMaintain meticulous documentation habits and proactively share insights that strengthen team capabilityRespond effectively to urgent or after‑hours support needsMust be eligible to work in the US for any employer without restrictionsMust be willing and able to work full time onsite in Taylor, TXBenefitsSamsung SDSA offers a competitive salary, and a comprehensive suite of programs to support our employees:Top-notch medical, dental, vision and prescription coverageWellness programParental leave401K match and savings planFlexible spending accountsLife insurancePaid HolidaysPaid Time offAdditional benefitsSamsung SDS America, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
