Director of Finance – Investment Management PlatformPosition OverviewMy investment management client who manages about $20B AUM is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as a senior financial leader within a growing investment management organization. This individual will oversee all core finance functions, including accounting, financial reporting, planning, treasury, and compliance support across a multi-product, multi-entity investment platform.This role partners closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making, operational scaling, and financial integrity across both corporate and fund-level activities in a regulated investment environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & StrategyAct as a strategic finance partner to senior leadership, supporting long-term growth initiatives and product expansion strategiesProvide financial analysis, modeling, and scenario planning to support business decisions and new initiativesTranslate organizational priorities into financial forecasts, performance tracking, and capital planning frameworksAccounting & ReportingOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across corporate and investment entitiesEnsure accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standardsMaintain integrity of consolidated reporting across multiple entities and investment structuresCoordinate with external auditors and service providers on audit and reporting deliverablesBudgeting & ForecastingLead annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting cyclesAnalyze revenue drivers tied to asset-based fees and product performanceMonitor operating expenses and identify opportunities for efficiency and scaleTreasury & Liquidity ManagementManage cash flow, liquidity planning, and banking relationshipsOversee capital allocation decisions supporting operational and growth initiativesSupport working capital optimization across business linesCompliance & ControlsSupport adherence to regulatory, tax, and financial reporting requirements applicable to investment management entitiesMaintain and enhance internal controls over financial reportingCoordinate with legal, compliance, and audit stakeholders on reporting and control mattersMonitor financial risk exposures including market, currency, and operational risksFund & Product Finance SupportSupport financial operations related to investment products, including lifecycle activity, expense allocation, and performance reportingPartner with operations and external administrators to ensure accurate NAV and fund-level reportingAssist with fee calculations and product-level financial analytics where applicableLeadership & Team DevelopmentBuild, lead, and develop a high-performing finance teamEstablish scalable processes and workflows to support organizational growthPromote collaboration across investment, operations, and distribution functionsInvestor & Executive ReportingPrepare financial reporting materials for senior leadership and governing bodiesSupport investor-facing financial reporting and due diligence requestsContribute to internal and external stakeholder communications regarding financial performanceStrategic ProjectsLead or support initiatives such as system implementations, process improvements, and cost optimizationEvaluate financial implications of potential acquisitions, partnerships, or new business linesSupport expansion into new jurisdictions or operational structures as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, with an active CPA8–12+ years of progressive finance experience in investment management, financial services, or fund-related environmentsPrior experience in a senior finance role overseeing accounting, reporting, and planning functionsStrong technical accounting knowledge and experience with multi-entity structuresDeep understanding of asset-based revenue models and investment product economicsExperience working in a regulated financial environment preferredStrong leadership experience managing finance teamsExcellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skillsPreferred ExperienceBackground in investment platforms, asset management, or fund-adjacent businessesExposure to multi-product or international business operationsExperience with financial system implementations or scaling finance infrastructureFamiliarity with performance-based revenue structures and investment reporting workflows
