When you join ourteamyou will beutilizingyour healthcare and/or customer service skills toassistwith every step of the bloodcollectionprocess. Take the time to personally connect with donors - listen to their stories and help them understandhow impactful their donation is.Collaborate with your teammates to create a welcoming and friendlyenvironmentso our volunteer donors feel comfortable coming backagain and again.Be detailed oriented all day, every day. Thisensuresthat the blood you collect meets goals, regulatory requirements and can be safely transfusedMay drive Red Cross vehicles andyou will workwith the team to setup and tear down equipment at the donation sites.Position may requirea minimumheight of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.Standard Schedule:(Allen Park, Dearborn ,Dearborn Heights, Ecorse, Flat Rock, GrossieIle, Inkster, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, New Boston, River Rouge, Riverview, Rockwood,R omulus, Southgate, Taylor ,Trenton, Wyandotte,Michigan)
Variable ScheduleRotating WeekendsTo best meet the needs of our donors and community,staffworka variable schedulewhich may includeearly mornings, late nights, weekends,and holidays.Overnight travel may berequiredin some locations.Scheduleisprovidedtwo to threeweeksin advancePay Information:
Starting rate $19.38/hour.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED(Minimum Qualifications):
High school diploma or equivalentisrequiredCustomer service experience and effective verbal communication skills arerequiredA current, valid driver's license witha gooddrivingrecord is required.Physical requirements may include the ability to lift,pushor pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand forlong periodsof time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changesarerequired.Position may requirea minimumheight of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.At the American Red Cross, we conduct many mobile blood drives at businesses,schoolsand many other locations. All staff work as a team tosetupand tear down the equipmentrequiredto conduct a mobile blood drive.Basic computer skills arerequired.
