Leads a team in coordination with project leaders and outsource partners to support the commercial project needs for their respective markets. Lead and grow the commercial architecture function for low‑rise podium, stacked townhome, and mid‑rise residential communities across the mid‑Atlantic / Northeast. Balance project delivery, licensing/signing & sealing responsibilities, consultant management, and front‑end land/civil coordination while providing strategic leadership to a small team of architects and project managers.Must Haves:10+ years of commercial/multifamily architecture experience (low‑rise podium, multifamily, townhome/condo experience strongly preferred). - Licensed architect in Virginia and Maryland required; additional Northeast state licensure (NJ, PA, New England) highly desirable or ability to obtain reciprocity quickly. - Proven experience signing and sealing documents and managing consultant teams. - Demonstrated team leadership/people management experience. - Strong hands‑on familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit (can read and make minor edits); drafting background preferred. - Deep understanding of IBC code applications for multifamily and townhouse products. - Excellent communication skills and ability to influence operations, land, and development stakeholders. -Comfortable operating within a developer/owner environment (not a traditional firm culture), adapting to repeat‑product processes over boutique design practice.Nice‑to‑haves: - Experience with mid‑Atlantic and Northeast project markets. - Experience with clubhouses and amenity buildings (single‑story indoor/outdoor pools, community centers). - Previous experience in a developer/owner role or with large multifamily builders. Reporting and work environment: - Reports to Commercial Operations leadership; will work closely with multiple division presidents.
