Executive Director
Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will oversee the development and execution of the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. This role involves ensuring the organization’s sustainability, financial health, and adherence to its core values while fostering relationships with stakeholders and representing the organization in various settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Business and Financial Management
· Oversee the preparation management and control of the annual budget in accordance with the guidelines of funding authorities and as approved by the Board of Directors
· Oversee revisions of the Employee Handbook and other revisions of appropriate documents
· Ensure that relevant technology, hardware, and software are in place for collaboration, document creation and storage, communication, productivity, fundraising, and record keeping.
Organizational Leadership
· Responsible for developing strategic plans and reviewing at the beginning of each fiscal year and then quarterly thereafter
· Set a strategic vision for the agency and provide training and supervision to staff to support the overall growth structure and agency needs
· Lead decision-making regarding agency challenges, personnel needs, and making sure current programs and agency functions are positioned for success and growth
Human Resources
· Ensure qualified staff is hired, supervised, trained, developed, and provided the necessary tools to be successful
· Facilitate and/or define the onboarding process for new staff in key leadership positions
· Lead select Director-level staff as immediate manager, conducting performance reviews and providing ongoing coaching and professional development
· Ensure the annual performance review process for all agency personnel is conducted fairly, efficiently, inclusively, and with respect in a timely manner
· Monitor and facilitate the development of a responsive, inclusive culture that provides access to resources, support and guidance to ensure that staff have multiple communications channels to voice concerns or to share input
Program Development
· Plan for and consult with staff in the development and management of agency programs in accordance with established guidelines and the strategic plan
· Ensure the quality and effectiveness of programs through collaboration with staff, board and stakeholders. Ensure programs align with agency mission
· Develop community partnerships to ensure that agency information is disseminated appropriately and that relationships remain positive with members
Executive/Board Partnership
· Provide monthly reports to The Open Door Board of Directors
· Provide monthly reports to the SCA
· Ensure that The Open Door always has appropriate volunteer representation on the Board of Directors
· Ensure that Board Members are oriented and educated as to The Open Door and its services
· Attend appropriate board and other community meetings to contribute support and expertise on behalf of The Open Door and report on activities to the agency
· Carry out the policies and actions of the Board of Directors
· Keep board of directors informed of significant developments in a timely manner
· Seek prior approval from Board of Directors before signing new contracts
Marketing and Development
· Develop effective working relationships and presence with the Substance Abuse, Mental Health, and Human services professionals and associations
· Identify and prepare grants to potential and existing funders; supervise grant activities
· Enhance public understanding of The Open Door through marketing communications
· On behalf of The Open Door, establish and maintain ongoing positive relationships with individuals at all levels of the community
Strategic Partnership and Qualifications
· Maintain and excellent working relationship with internal and external providers
· Represent the agency in the communities served
· Develop and maintain strong relationships among stakeholders, peers, donors, associations, and public relations
Other
· Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
· Master’s degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing services, public administration, business management of other related field and five (5) years of experience in a human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting, which includes supervision of others, direct service and program planning

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
