Mechanic Welder / Fabricator - Asphalt Plant

DescriptionMartin Marietta is seeking a skilled Mechanic Welder/Fabricator to support the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of asphalt plant and industrial equipment throughout the metropolitan area. This role is ideal for a mechanically minded professional who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting in the field, and fabricating solutions that keep critical plant operations running safely and efficiently.This is a union position, and membership in IUOE Local 49 is required.What You’ll DoRepair, fabricate, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide range of industrial and mobile equipment, including:Asphalt plant equipmentConveyor systemsCrushing and processing equipmentPiping, tanks, and structural componentsPerform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtimeConduct welding and fabrication work, frequently in out‑of‑position scenariosDiagnose mechanical issues and implement effective, long‑lasting repairsFollow all required safety procedures, including MSHA and OSHA standardsAssist with training and mentoring coworkers as neededWork independently in the field while maintaining strong communication with the maintenance teamWork EnvironmentBased out of the south metro and supporting our southern MN locations. (Rosemount to New Ulm/Mankato and surrounding areas)Approximately 10% shop work / 90% field workOutdoor work at multiple asphalt and aggregate sites across the metro areaExposure to varying weather, elevated work areas, and industrial environmentsPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to feel, or handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
