Job Title: Assistant Retail ManagerReports To: Retail DirectorSummary: HarborWalk Village offers waterfront shopping, boat, pontoon and jet ski rentals, world class fishing, aqua adventures, dolphin cruises, clubs and nightlife, weekly fireworks, seasonal festivals, live entertainment, and a variety of restaurants.Job Summary:The Assistant Retail Manager supports the overall daily operations of the retail store by ensuring exceptional guest experience, maintaining strong merchandising standards, and assisting with inventory and retail systems management. This role works closely with the Retail Director to drive sales, maintain operational efficiency, and uphold brand standards.Compensation$22.00Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Guest Service & SalesDeliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming shopping environment Assist guests with product selection, inquiries, and issue resolution Support sales goals by promoting products and upselling when appropriate Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate when necessary Merchandising & Visual StandardsExecute merchandising plans to ensure the store is visually appealing and organized Maintain product displays according to company standards Assist in floor moves, seasonal resets, and promotional setups Monitor stock levels on the sales floor and replenish as needed Inventory ManagementAssist with inventory control processes, including receiving, counting, and restocking Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts Help minimize shrinkage and ensure accurate inventory records Coordinate with management on stock needs and reorder planning Retail Systems & OperationsOperate retail management systems, including entering new merchandise and updating product information Ensure accurate pricing, SKU setup, and inventory tracking in the system Support point-of-sale (POS) operations and troubleshoot basic system issues Maintain organized and accurate back-of-house operations Reporting & AdministrationAssist in preparing sales, inventory, and performance reports Track key metrics and provide insights to support decision-making Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping Communicate regularly with the Retail Director regarding store performance and operational updates Team Support & LeadershipSupport training and onboarding of retail staff Provide guidance and leadership during shifts in the absence of the Retail Director Help maintain a positive, productive team environmentQualifications:Previous retail experience required; supervisory experience preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Experience with retail systems and inventory management Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysRetail merchandising and product presentation skillsExperience in apparel, gift, or beach/outdoor retail preferredKnowledge, Skill, and Ability RequirementsEmployee leadership skillsLead by example through effective communication, problem solving, decision-quality, and the ability to cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment.Sales skillsPossess strong negotiation skills, excel at building relationships through active listening and clear & concise communication.Excellent communication skills: Ability to interact with team members professionally assuming positive intent to support performance development.
