Join our team and grow your career in a hospital where everyday excellence meets or exceeds expectations.Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) - Women's Services provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Women's Services unit, including obstetrics, labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. The RN utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.Essential FunctionsProvides direct patient care in the obstetrics, labor and delivery, postpartum, and nursery unitsDevelops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans for mothers and infantsMonitors fetal heart tones, vital signs, and patient status throughout labor and postpartumAdministers medications, performs procedures, and assists physicians with exams and deliveriesEducates patients and families on postpartum care, infant care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructionsDocuments all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptlyParticipates in emergency response situations, including neonatal resuscitation and postpartum hemorrhageCollaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and facilitate discharge planningMaintains a safe and clean environment in compliance with infection control standardsParticipates in staff training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiativesKnowledge/Skills/Abilities/ExpectationsStrong clinical knowledge in obstetric and neonatal careAbility to work in high-stress, fast-paced environmentsProficient in electronic medical records (EMR) and fetal monitoring systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and family interactionsAbility to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to emergenciesKnowledge of infection control practices and safety protocolsDemonstrates professionalism, empathy, and patient-centered careQualificationsEducationAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN) requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredLicense/CertificationCurrent state RN license or compact state equivalent requiredBasic Life Support (BLS) as required per facility policyNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as required per facility policyAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as required per facility policyFetal Monitoring Certification as required per facility policyPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required per facility policyExperienceMinimum of six (6) months of obstetrical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
