Position Summary The Senior Accounting Specialist (Assistant Controller Support) plays a critical role in supporting the company’s accounting operations, financial close, and general ledger accuracy. This position partners closely with the CFO and finance team and functions as a senior individual contributor in a growing, multi-entity environment. The role requires strong general ledger expertise and comfort working across multiple entities. This is a hands-on position that combines transactional accounting work with higher-level review, reconciliation, and analytical responsibilities, supporting accurate close and financial reporting as the organization continues to scale. Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Close Support Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and adjustments Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations Support month-end and year-end close activities, including close schedules and variance analysis Review and validate journal entries and reconciliations prepared by others to ensure accuracy, consistency, and proper accounting treatment Monitor general ledger activity for trends, anomalies, or inconsistencies and flag items requiring follow-up or adjustment Transactional & Operational Accounting Support day-to-day accounting activities, including data entry and transactional processing as needed Assist with accounts payable and expense processing to ensure timely and accurate recording Review vendor coding, expense allocations, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy Intercompany & Multi-Entity Support Assist with accounting activities across multiple related entities, including intercompany transactions and reconciliations Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Logistics teams to ensure accurate expense recognition and proper accounting treatment Systems, Controls & Process Improvement Support accuracy and integrity of accounting data across financial and operational systems Assist with audits, reviews, and external requests by preparing documentation and support schedules Help document, improve, and streamline accounting processes and internal controls Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks and proactively recommend improvements Additional Responsibilities Assist with annual 1099 preparation and filings Prepare ad hoc invoices and support special projects or time-sensitive requests from finance leadership Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (or equivalent experience) 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and general ledger processes Demonstrated experience with reconciliations and month-end close support Ability to interpret accounting data and identify trends, variances, or potential issues Advanced Excel skills Experience with accounting and expense management systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Bill/Divvy, or similar) Experience with Tai TMS or similar logistics / transportation management platforms — preferred Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment Why Launch Fulfillment High-growth 3PL organization with increasing accounting complexity Opportunity to operate in an Assistant Controller–type support capacity Direct partnership with executive leadership Meaningful impact on financial operations, accuracy, and scalability Meaningful impact on financial operations and scalability Additional Information This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
