Accounting Manager
POSITION TITLE AND SCOPE: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations and supporting a timely and accurate month-end close. This role manages a small team (A/P, A/R, and Inventory Control) and works closely with the CFO to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policies.This is a hands-on role focused on execution, team support, and maintaining efficient accounting processes. This position will report to the C.F.O.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :Manage the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reportsSupervise daily activities of the accounting team (A/P, A/R, Inventory), providing guidance and ensuring work is completed accurately and on timeReview key transactions and reconciliations to maintain accuracy of the general ledgerSupport the CFO in preparing monthly financial statements and internal reportingAssist with annual audit preparation and respond to auditor requests as neededMaintain and improve existing accounting processes and workflows for efficiency and consistencyCoordinate routine accounting activities related to international transactions (Japan, EU, Australia), working within established processesSupport budgeting and forecasting processes by compiling and organizing financial dataEnsure compliance with company policies and assist with tax and filing requirements under CFO directionNote: This description is not intended to be all-inclusive. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field4–5 years of progressive accounting experience; prior team lead or supervisory experience preferredStrong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end closeExperience reviewing reconciliations and journal entriesComfortable working in a hands-on role within a small team environmentProficiency in Excel and standard accounting systems (Oracle experience a plus, not required)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyPHYSIAL DEMANDS :Position requires to sit, stand, walk, bend reach and kneel. Lift from 15 to 20 Lbs.
