This position is responsible for supervising technicians, maintaining HVAC requirements campus-wide by supervising and performing systems analysis, corrective and preventive maintenance, inspection and repairs of chillers, pumps, air-handling equipment, cooling towers, and piping systems in 130 plus buildings.The successful candidate mustDemonstrate professionalism through actions and appearance to promote a positive customer service cultureBe dedicated to high-quality work, trustworthy, motivate others, a reliable communicator of work-related information and avoid gossipWilling to learn new skills and knowledge as well as keeping current by requesting specific trainingMaintain open, honest, courteous, respectful, and positive work relationships with associates both inside and outside the work unitActively contribute to group work activities, participate in decision making, support group, accept and provide praise and constructive criticism with equal effectivenessDuties And ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Schedule work to meet the needs of customers with high quality and reliabilityEnsure supplies are restocked and organizedAddress employee needs and concernsEffectively communicate with employees, customers, and managers in a timely mannerKeep time cards, leave, work orders, and refrigerant records accurate and updatedPrioritize work ordersEvaluate technician performanceAssist management with refrigerant records by keeping accurate inventory of appliancesKeep shop work order backlog minimumFosters organizational skills and seeks out best practicesAttends meetings and trainingsCompletes work in a timely manner to satisfy customer needsProvides clear and concise descriptions on all work ordersProvides documentation of refrigerant usage for EPA recordsPerforms maintenance on HVAC systems to provide reliable, safe, and efficient operationShares learned information and helps with training of techniciansProvides input for the replacement of HVAC systemsThoroughly reviews replacement equipment for proper applications, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and minimal downtimeKeeps accurate on-call schedule and provide copy to HVAC ManagerIs part of a rotating call schedule of supervisorsAssists with repairs on overtime as needed to ensure proper operation of University systems.May be required to work other shift temporarilyMay be required to preform other duties as neededQualificationsRequired:Considerable knowledge in diagnostics/troubleshooting and maintenance of HVAC systems, chiller systems, heating and chilled water loops with associated pumping systems, fume hood operation, refrigeration circuits, and associated controls.Knowledgeable in building codes, safety regulations, and EPA standardsMust be organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to frequent changeAbility to lead and support a crew of HVAC techniciansMust understand the importance of refrigerant managementMust obtain the ability to use various instruments in troubleshooting equipment, electrically, mechanically, and from an efficiency prospective can communicate this knowledge to techniciansMust be available for on-call/overtimeEPA 608 CertificationMust be at least 19 years old and have a valid driver's license for a minimum of 24 months.Additional Posting InformationConditions of Employment: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and an acceptable MVR.E-Verify Notice: After accepting employment, new hires are required to complete an I-9 form and present documentation of their identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
