The expected weekly time commitment for this opportunity is 15 to 32 hours per week.Please note that this internship is open to candidates that do not have a U.S. residential address in California or New York.This opportunity may be a good fit ifYou are comfortable working 100% remotely as part of a distributed teamYou excel at independent execution of complex engineering projectsYour work products demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and the ability to see the big pictureYour aptitude, mindset, and ability to learn quickly make up for shortcomings in your current skill setThis role may require you toDevelop data product web applications using Flask and other Python-centric frameworks/packagesProvision and maintain cloud-based infrastructure via TerraformEngineer and maintain production-grade data pipelinesLeverage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, and other GCP services to build secure, performant, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data product solutionsTest, deploy, and maintain Dockerized applicationsInterface with local and cloud-based Redis serversTranslate user interface mockups/prototypes into custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptCode custom data integrations and data platform featuresDocument source code, architectural designs, research, development plans, and engineering standards to enable solution modularity, reproducibility, portability, collaboration, and knowledge sharingCollaborate with teammates using Slack, Figma, Google Meet, and/or other softwareAn ideal candidate hasA solid conceptual understanding of the complementary value of data engineering, data science, and software engineering in the development of data productsExperience building and deploying data pipelinesProficiency in functional and object-oriented PythonExperience building full-stack web applicationsExperience using Git-based version control in a team settingDemonstrated ability to write and/or use custom APIsFamiliarity with frontend web frameworks such as BootstrapExperience writing modular HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptPractical understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practicesEffective modular thinking skills evidenced by the ability to break down large, intricate undertakings into a series of smaller self-contained tasksExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEmotional intelligence and coachabilityAll details of this job description are subject to change at any time, at the sole discretion of MyDataProduct.
