Ref78315Vacancy titleConstruction Manager (OHL)Function(s)Construction ManagementContract typeFull time permanentRegionNationalLocation(s)NationalDescriptionOHL Construction ManagerNationalTalented people are the key to our success.We are recruiting three Construction Managers to support the safe and successful delivery of Overhead Line (OHL) projects across National Grid and wider transmission infrastructure programmes.This is a key site leadership role responsible for managing construction delivery teams, subcontract partners and stakeholders to achieve best-in-class safety, quality, programme and commercial outcomes on schemes ranging from £1m to £100m.The role is suited to experienced Construction Managers with a proven OHL track record, and we also welcome applications from ambitious Project Engineers with strong OHL delivery experience who are ready to step into a Construction Manager position.Role ResponsibilitiesLead a strong safety-first culture and ensure full compliance with HSEQ, CDM and client requirementsPlan, coordinate and manage all OHL site activities including towers/poles, foundations, stringing and outage worksEnsure works are delivered in accordance with National Grid Supplier Requirements, Technical Specifications and site standardsManage supervisors, direct labour and subcontract partners to achieve safe, productive deliveryDevelop and manage short-term programmes, lookaheads and daily work plansEnsure works are delivered Right First Time, meeting quality and client standardsMonitor progress, manage risks and resolve site constraints Interface effectively with National Grid representatives, stakeholders and project teamsSupport commercial performance, resource planning and cost controlCoach and develop engineers and supervisors to build team capabilityPromote Morgan Sindall values, behaviours and professional standards on siteSkills, Experience and QualificationsMinimum 5 years' experience delivering Overhead Line construction projectsProven track record leading OHL site teams and subcontractorsExperience working on National Grid or major UK transmission networksStrong knowledge of OHL construction methods, sequencing and outage planningGood knowledge, understanding and practical experience implementing National Grid Supplier Requirements and Technical SpecificationsSMSTSRelevant OHL Persons / National Grid competenciesCSCS (Management level)Good programme, planning and organisational skills Strong safety leadership and communication skillsWhat is in it for you?Below is a selection of benefits that are available to you at Morgan Sindall Infrastructure.Generous holiday entitlement with the option to buy five days.Flexible and adaptable workingFamily friendly policies and work/life approachMentoring programmes and continuous learning supportContributory pension schemeAnnual bonus schemeRecognition scheme and long service awardsCar scheme and Private Medical Insurance (if applicable to role)We also provide the option to participate in our share-save scheme; discounts including cycle to work and gym membership; a support and advice service for colleagues and their families, and more.About the Energy Business UnitWe have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground.
