Location: Juno Beach, FL (20% Office/80% Field, Per Diem Eligible) Schedule: Standard Business Hours Duration: 12-Month Contract Pay Rate: $48.00 - $52.00/hr Position SummaryOur client is a leading organisation in the US energy sector, offering a collaborative environment and long-term contract opportunities across high-profile infrastructure programmes.The Construction Manager (CM) is a field-based leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of substation and transmission construction projects. Serving as the primary interface between field operations and senior project management, the CM ensures strict adherence to engineering design, contract requirements, environmental regulations, safety standards, and project schedules throughout the full construction lifecycle. ResponsibilitiesReview all contract documents, permits, drawings, schedules, and QA/QC requirements prior to mobilisationEvaluate contractor Safety Plans and lead kickoff meetings and site orientationsAssess site access, greenfield/brownfield conditions, and jurisdictional constraintsReview engineering packages to define full scope of structures, equipment, and systems; identify demolition needsMonitor project milestones and critical path; escalate delays to the General ManagerCross-reference drawings against EOR BOM; oversee material delivery, storage, and verificationConfirm all permits are current; ensure SWPPP and environmental compliance; coordinate crossing approvalsEnforce the HASP and promote a proactive safety culture; conduct daily safety meetings and field walkdownsDocument field progress, address non-conformances, and submit weekly reports and tracker updatesMonitor budget variances, review contractor invoices, and identify cost driversEnsure contractor compliance with all contract terms; manage non-conformances appropriatelyMaintain strong contractor relationships; provide regular updates to PM and General ManagerCoordinate with environmental, safety, SME, and land teams as required Education & ExperienceDemonstrated experience in substation and/or industrial construction project managementProven track record managing field construction activities for transmission or high-voltage infrastructureFamiliarity with greenfield and brownfield construction environmentsExperience with environmental compliance programmes including SWPPP implementation Knowledge & SkillsStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentsSolid understanding of safety and environmental regulatory requirements applicable to utility constructionProficiency with standard computer applications; experience with project reporting and tracking toolsExcellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage contractors and cross-functional teamsHighly organised with strong attention to detail in contract, material, and fiscal management ...
