Building on more than 30 years of sustainability progress and industryfirst innovation, we remain 'all in' on our goal of becoming carbon negative by 2040, without the use of offsets.Job DescriptionPosition summary:The Mechanic 1 is responsible for trouble shooting mechanical systems, up-grading mechanical devices and equipment, maintain and support air pollution equipment as well as general plant and facilities maintenance and modernization.Educational requirements:High school diploma or GED requiredTechnical school certificate preferredSkills and experience:Training and experience in the mechanical craftBe familiar with systems such as HVAC, pumps, boilers, gearboxes, buildings, and other drive systemsMust possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving history reportAbility to meet license requirements for Powered Industrial Trucks (Lift trucks, JLG's, Scissor Lift's)Basic Ladder Logic/schematic blueprint readingSkill in basic electrical (de-energized) procedures preferredWelding Fabrication experience with mig & arc requiredTig, aluminum and stainless preferredMachinist Skills - Lathe, Milling preferredCutting skills using oxyacetylene and plasma torches preferredEssential duties:Troubleshoot complex mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsTrain others of lesser skill levelEstimate, procure parts, modify and install mechanical equipmentDrive company truck to various Interface locations as well as to supply companiesComply with safety rules and environmental regulationsBe aware of departmental Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and LOTO proceduresUnderstand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.Ensure ISO procedures are followed.Maintain housekeepingPerform other duties as assignedWhile performing any overhead work or task that creates metal shavings/foreign debris you must take all necessary precautions to prevent material from getting in the carpetPhysical demands:Lifting up to 40 lbs.Extensive walkingDaily climbing of ladders and stairsWork environment:Non-climate controlled manufacturing environmentWork areas include but are not limited to:electrical panel, power distribution switchgear, breaker panel, etc... which requires PPE that is provided by the company.#On-Site#LI-AS1Learn more about Interface (NASDAQ: TILE) and our brands at interface.com and FLOR.com.
