Survey Crew Chief

Our client is seeking a motivated and self-starting Survey Party Crew Chief to expand our team. The position will include leading crews for land surveying related work including construction staking, cadastral, boundary, ALTA, and topography. This is an opportunity to work with a wide variety of survey projects throughout the region while expanding technical skills and experience in a strong regionally based firm.Responsibilities:Managing land surveying projects within several industriesAbility to analyze deeds, certificates of survey, subdivision plats, and other survey recordsKnowledge of the Public Land Survey SystemKnowledge of the BLM ManualFamiliar with GLO field notes and platsUnderstanding of construction staking, cadastral, boundary, ALTA, and topographic surveyingAbility to operate as a one-person team and manage field assistant, as necessaryOrganize field staking materials as necessaryProvide technical expertise to internal and external clientsCompetent with Survey Equipment, GPS, and Total StationComplete and maintain accurate data files and field notesMust have experience in supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of othersMust be able to perform complex tasks that require solutions, skill, and speed beyond typical and conventional methodsMaintain productive working relationships with all clients and co-workersCommunication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere are vitalExcellent verbal and written communication skillsRequired Qualifications:Basic knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble equipment and software is desired but not requiredExperience in Land Surveying or Associates Degree in Land SurveyingAbility to work independentlyProficient in written documentationWillingness to travel and work outsideValid driver’s licenseSome travelSome overtimeSome overnight travel
