Survey Party Chief - Field Leadership RoleAn established surveying and engineering environment is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead field survey operations in the Spearfish, SD area. This role is ideal for a hands-on survey professional who enjoys leading crews, working with modern survey technology, and contributing directly to civil and land development projects.What You'll Do:Lead and supervise a field survey crew on boundary, topographic, and construction staking projectsOperate GPS, robotic total stations, and related survey equipmentEnsure accuracy, safety, and efficiency across all field activitiesCollaborate with surveyors and project teams to support design and construction needsMentor junior staff and support their technical growthWhat We're Looking For: 2-4 years of land surveying experience with field leadership exposureStrong working knowledge of GPS and modern survey instrumentsAbility to work independently while managing a crewWillingness to work outdoors and relocate if needed
