Job Description Account Representative – Revenue Cycle | Hybrid Remote OpportunityA leading pediatric healthcare organization in Houston is seeking an experienced Account Representative to join their Revenue Cycle team on a 13-week contract assignment with potential for permanent hire. After completing initial onsite training in Houston, this role will transition to a remote/hybrid schedule.Schedule: Monday – Friday | Daytime HoursLocation: Houston, TX (Remote after onsite training)Assignment Type: 13-week contract with potential to hirePosition Summary:The Account Representative is responsible for managing outstanding accounts receivable, resolving claim and reimbursement issues, and ensuring accurate payer reimbursement according to contractual agreements and government regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with payors and guarantors.Key Responsibilities:Contact insurance payors and guarantors via phone or online portals to follow up on outstanding claims and accounts receivableDocument all collection activities, account updates, and communications accurately within the systemReview reimbursements and verify payments according to payer contracts and reimbursement guidelinesAnalyze denied, underpaid, or unresolved claims and determine appropriate next steps for resolutionIdentify reimbursement trends and escalate concerns to leadership when necessaryMaintain follow-up on accounts to ensure timely resolution and prevent aging balancesAssist with departmental projects and productivity goalsUtilize payer portals, soft phones, e-fax systems, and Microsoft Office applications effectivelyQualifications:High School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 2 years of Revenue Cycle experience requiredProfessional claims experience preferredExperience with Epic preferredKnowledge of government, commercial, and managed care reimbursement methodologies preferredUnderstanding of denial management and collections processesStrong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and ExcelAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentIdeal Candidate:Experienced in healthcare collections or accounts receivable follow-upComfortable navigating payer portals and resolving claim issuesDetail-oriented with strong math and analytical skillsAble to manage time effectively and prioritize workload independentlyApply today to learn more about this exciting healthcare revenue cycle opportunity.
