Role overview
The Schonfeld Family Office is seeking a highly organized, thoughtful and structured individual to serve as a research-driven thought partner across all aspects of the Principal's business and personal activities, and long-term strategic initiatives
The position reports directly to the Principal and operates independently from the associated hedge fund operations
This individual should be self-sufficient in advancing multiple projects without significant day-to-day guidance while maintaining clear communication and structured updates
The mandate is intellectual partnership, research, organization, and structured strategic thinking. This will include, but is not limited to:
Generational wealth strategy and long-term family planning
Estate and trust structure optimization
Tax efficiency research and solving for tax leakage
Portfolio construction and after-tax return analysis across diversified assets
Evaluation of potential new business lines and strategic pivots
Behavioral finance and investor psychology
Organization and cataloging of ideas, AI research, and long-term thinking frameworks
Technology solutions and AI optimization for research and information management
Strategic mentorship support for adult children
Business planning and guidance for family entrepreneurial initiatives
In-depth study of multi-strategy hedge funds and competitors
Analysis of how financial firms evolve over decades
Case studies of industry leaders
Monitoring structural shifts within the hedge fund industry
Studying competitor strategy and positioning
Years of experience : between 5-10 years of prior consulting/family office experience
Location : remote, with a requirement to travel to Old Westbury, NY on average 1x/week
The base pay for this role is expected to be $300,000. The expected base was predicated on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
