Senior Software Engineer – Back-End / Full StackLocation: Tempe, AZ — Hybrid, Monday–Thursday onsite; Friday flexible/remoteCompensation: $125,000–$140,000 base + 10% annual bonusEmployment: Full-timeThe OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Tempe, Arizona.This is a hands-on development position focused approximately 80% on back-end engineering and 20% on front-end development. The role will have significant ownership across API development, AWS serverless architecture, microservices, mobile and web applications, and integrations with internal and external platforms.The engineering team is highly business-facing, so this is not purely a heads-down development role. The successful candidate will work directly with business stakeholders, architects, and other engineers to understand requirements, recommend solutions, and deliver scalable applications.What You'll Work OnCurrent and upcoming initiatives include:Building new applications and platforms from the ground upDeveloping APIs supporting mobile applicationsBuilding and enhancing customer-facing portalsRe-platforming a large public-facing website into a modern, API-driven architectureIntegrating AI capabilities and new technology platformsBuilding APIs and integrations connecting internal systems and external vendorsSupporting operational and enterprise applicationsImproving scalability, reliability, and automation across the technology environmentWhat You'll DoDesign, develop, test, and deploy scalable back-end services and APIsBuild serverless applications and microservices using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and other AWS technologiesDevelop primarily with Python and Node.jsWork with TypeScript and JavaScriptContribute to front-end applications using React and React NativeDesign and consume APIs, including GraphQL-based servicesPartner with architects and developers on technical designs and architecture decisionsWork directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend technical solutionsTranslate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholdersCoordinate UAT and gather feedback from business users and pre-release testersParticipate in CI/CD, testing, deployment, and production supportLead technical workstreams and take ownership of projects from design through deliveryConduct code reviews and mentor junior engineersWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical fieldIdeally 6–8 years of software development experience; strong candidates with 4–5+ years may also be consideredStrong experience with back-end engineering, API development, and microservicesHands-on experience with AWS serverless technologiesExperience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, or similar AWS servicesStrong development experience with Python and/or Node.jsFull-stack development experienceExperience with technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, React, React Native, and/or GraphQLExperience working with both SQL and NoSQL databasesExperience with modern CI/CD tools and development practicesExperience owning or leading development projectsExperience conducting code reviews and/or mentoring junior engineersStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutionsRecent U.S.-based project experience strongly preferredNice to HaveJiraAgile development environmentsSalesforceMobile application developmentEnterprise system integrationsCompensation & Work EnvironmentThe base salary range for this position is $125,000–$140,000, plus a 10% target annual bonus.
