Internship OpportunitiesUnder close supervision, provides entry to intermediate level professional services including clerical, analytical, or functional duties as required by the department. Receives guidance and instruction in planning and carrying out activities and assignments for the department. Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvides efficient, accurate and confidential administrative and/or technical support for department. Seeks direction when needed. Participates in the planning and implementation of department projects and initiatives within area of expertise. Undertakes and/or participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization. Interacts directly with colleagues, clientele, and/or other internal or external constituencies in the planning of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems. Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. As appropriate to the position and as specified by department management, conducts original research and prepares reports based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action. May be asked to assist with special projects for other departments at the discretion of the supervisor. Assists with the development of concepts and initiatives within the department. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Job DutiesComplies with established UEC safety and operating rules, procedures, and guidelines. Education And/Or ExperienceEducation: Enrolled in a degreed program from a four-year college or university in a related field in the most recent previous school term. Experience: Completion of first year of study in a related program is desired. Desired SkillsProject planning skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong desire to learn and engage with others. Experience using Microsoft Suite-Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to learn quickly in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Ability to work both independently and on a team. Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Mathematical SkillsAbility to comprehend and apply principles of mathematics. Computer SkillsJob requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software. Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates And LicensesA valid Driver's License is required.
