Production SupervisorThe Production Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of the production and operating associates to meet/exceed the company's key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity). This includes the management and inspection of all necessary equipment and materials to produce a product that meets or exceeds our customer's expectations. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for safety, equipment, production and quality, continuous improvement, development and management of its human resources, and any other duties as assigned.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Job functions include but are not limited to the following:Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable lawsActively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.Motivates and coaches' employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.Understand and enforce all Federal, State, and Local laws and guidelines relevant to the manufacturing facility.Understand implement and enforce the organizational policies on Safety, regulatory, CI instructions, JSA's, SOP's, and other relevant policies.Identify corrective measures to reduce waste in department.Maintain a safe working environment for employees to meet ABX's safety goalsUnderstand and compliance of ABX's core values: (Integrity, Employees, Customers, Respect, Excellence, and Passion).Manage employees by assigning responsibilities, delegating, orienting, and training employees. Maintain manufacturing job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.Implement production plan by establishing priorities, scheduling activities and monitoring progress; revising schedules and resolving problemsReview and analyze production and operational reports to determine the root cause of non-conformity with production formulations or production constraints.Recommend preventative maintenance requirements to guarantee safe and efficient operation of equipment. Recommend any needed preventative maintenance requirements by meeting with contractors, vendors, or plant personnel qualified to perform preventative maintenance.Incorporate and foster Continuous Improvement metrics with plant employees.Insure the safe operation of all equipment and train/audit team members, as necessary.Confer with other supervisors/managers to coordinate operations & activities throughout the plant.Inspect materials and equipment to detect defects and constraints.Prepare plant reports by collecting, analyzing, and the summarization of information in a timely basis.Develop a working understanding or all equipment.Constantly monitor people and flow of materials.Communicate both verbally and written to employees as needed.Manage employees' vacation, time sheets, and recognition through company-based reporting softwareTroubleshoot label issues, look up inventory, look at and interpret the schedule, general knowledge of JDE functions.Competencies:Safety LeadershipAccountabilityCommunicationEngagement Team DevelopmentPeople AgilityProblem Solving/Conflict ResolutionThe ability to manage a diverse workforceWillingness to take charge, offer direction, and accept feedbackMust be reliable, responsible, and personally accountable for resultsThe ability to foster teamwork and create a safe and viable work environmentMust have the ability to grasp and understand the technical knowledge of all equipmentBackground / Experience:Manufacturing experience, preferably in the flexible packaging industryExperience working with equipment such as slitters, extruders, and flexographic printing equipment5-years supervisory experience in a manufacturing settingWorking with a diverse workforceEducation / Knowledge:Knowledge of lean manufacturing principlesMinimum 2-year associate degree preferred, 4-year college degree ideal.Computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and WordABX Innovative Packaging Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
