Civil Design Technician | Sioux Falls, SD IMEG is hiring a Civil Design Technician in Sioux Falls, SD, to work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide design solutions and advice that support positive client outcomes. In this role, you'll assist with preparing models and drawings for civil engineering projects. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams and work within the project's monetary budget to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal Responsibilities Assist engineers and designers with field measurements of existing plans and prepare drawings from field data Request clarification from the designer on items that are not clear on markups or instructions for drafting purposes Assist in the design and analysis of Civil Engineering project features utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards Analyze lower complexity design tasks and propose innovative solutions Collaborate with engineers to develop practical and efficient solutions Participate in IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements Prioritize safety in all aspects of design work; identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with civil related construction projects Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Civil engineering; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsRequired Qualifications and Skills * Associates degree, or certificate, in utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering preferred * Prior experience in the civil engineering consulting or construction industry preferred * Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, primarily Civil 3D but Bentley OpenRoads is a plus * Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications * Good communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment * Attention to detail and problem-solving skills * Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges * Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups * Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook This position is not eligible for sponsorshipWhy Join Us IMEG puts people first-with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact.
