Primary purpose of job: To identify new market opportunities, build strong client relationships, and drive the growth of the company’s portfolio of specialty chemical products. This role combines strategic planning, market analysis, and sales expertise to expand the company’s reach and profitability in a dynamic and competitive industry. Key Responsibilities:Client Acquisition & Relationship Management Identify and pursue new business opportunities with manufacturers, distributors, and end-users in target sectorsBuild and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and industry partners.Negotiate contracts and manage the sales cycle from prospecting to closing.Market Analysis & StrategyConduct market research to identify emerging trends, potential customers, and new application areas for specialty chemicals.Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives.Reporting & ForecastingPrepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and business development updates for senior management.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.Regular discussions with customer service to meet customer needs to resolve problems.Product & Solution PromotionCollaborate with technical teams to understand product capabilities and communicate value propositions to customers.Present and demonstrate specialty chemical products and manufacturing capabilities at trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with R&D, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment with customer needs and market trends.Provide market feedback to support product development and innovation.Perform other duties as assignedKey Competencies:Strategic thinking and analytical skillsCustomer-focused mindsetEntrepreneurial drive and initiativeAdaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environmentTeamwork and cross-functional collaborationMeasures of PerformanceMaintenance of existing sales and gross margins for designated product areas.Growth in gross profit from sales to designated specialty chemical market areas.Maintenance of excellent relationships with customersMaintenance of positive and supportive relations with internal departments to facilitate the success of the business and company.Understanding of McGean, the Specialties business and marketsAdherence to Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to employee handbookMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the specialty chemical industry.Strong understanding of specialty chemical products, applications, and market dynamics.Proven track record of achieving sales targets and business growth.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Ability to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.
