Job SummaryThe Electrical Foreman leads and supervises electrical crews on commercial, industrial, and institutional construction or maintenance projects. This role ensures safe, efficient, high-quality electrical installations, coordinates field activities, enforces codes and policies, and supports project managers in delivering projects on schedule and on budget. The Foreman acts as the onsite technical leader and primary point of contact for electrical crew performance and production. Key Responsibilities Include: (But not limited to the following) Crew Leadership & SupervisionLead, supervise, and mentor journeyman electricians and apprentices.Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and guide team members to complete work to specifications and deadlines. Enforce safety protocols (OSHA, NEC, company safety standards) during all job phases.Job Planning & CoordinationReview and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and specifications. Plan work sequencing, coordinating crew activities, and optimize labor efficiency.Attend planning meetings with project management, general contractors, and subcontractors.Quality & Code ComplianceEnsure electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.Conduct quality checks and ensure proper installation of wiring, conduits, panelboards, control systems, lighting, power distribution, and low-voltage systems. Troubleshooting & Technical SupportDiagnose and resolve complex electrical issues in the field.Provide hands-on assistance as needed in installations or technical problem areas.Materials & DocumentationTrack materials usage, order supplies, and coordinate deliveries to maintain schedule continuity.Maintain accurate work logs, reports, and compliance documentation.CommunicationReport progress and issues to project managers and stakeholders.Communicate clearly with crew members, inspectors, and other trades to ensure cohesive execution.QualificationsEducation & CertificationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent work experience.California Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent (preferred/required depending on project scope). OSHA 30 or similar safety certification is strongly preferred.ExperienceTypically 6+ years of electrical experience, including significant hands-on work and 2+ years in a supervisory/foreman role. Experience with commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical systems.SkillsStrong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Proficient in reading electrical drawings and specifications.Excellent communication and coordination skills. xaygatp Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
