Project Engineer

Creative Composites, Inc., an AS9100-registered designer and manufacturer of Advanced Composite structures, of Rapid River, Michigan has an opening for a Project Engineer. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), including paid holidays and vacation, company-matched retirement, company-provided AD&D insurance, and health-insurance. We have a flexible and varied work environment servicing customers in the Automotive, Aerospace and Defense industries. Candidates should have experience in the following: Use of CAD/CAM software (CREO/Pro-Engineered preferred, but not necessary). Creating dimensioned drawings, including GD&T. Basic Engineering principles. Engineering Change Management. ISO9001/AS9100 operations. Vendor management. Reading dimensioned and noted drawings. Candidates are preferred, but not necessary, to have experience in the following: Mold tooling design and fabrication. Layup of dry fabrics and prepregs, as well as use of tackifiers. Determination of amounts of resins to be used to fill preforms. General selection & understanding of resin systems for part and tooling manufacture. Adhesive bonding of structural composites. Process monitoring (temperature, pressure & cure), as well as selecting and setting up appropriate process monitoring depending on requirements. Responsibilities will include: Interfacing with other departments in the company to ensure smooth workflow. Designing & Building tooling and manufacturing aids to assist Molding Technicians. Creating process drawings for manufacture of structures using composites and other materials. Creating workplans and work instructions for other departments. Participate in Product Development Team functions to develop production plans. Follow established Quality Control Procedures, including making sure documentation is correct. Creating product drawings to allow for vendor sourcing.
