P/T & Weekend Chef
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 10AM-6:30PM
(possibly Monday's as well)
Qualifications
Restaurant experience a plus
At least one year in the dietary or culinary department in the hospitality industry (resort or hotel) or, in a residential healthcare center or hospital environment or in a similar institution providing meals on a day to day basis for groups of people.
Able to interact with guests
Can host cooking classes & dinner parties
Job Duties
Prepare meals, including modified and therapeutic food items, in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
Responsible to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner weekdays and weekends
Responsible to serve off menu items and snacks, shakes/juices, wellness shots, and special menu items
Assure special dietary needs of all guests are being considered during the service of meals to clients, utilizing the nutritional form.
Assists with stocking and restocking of shelves
Assists with shopping for items needed for meals and kitchen supplies
Food in both fridges and freezers must be properly labeled with expiration dates
Keep refrigerator, cupboards clean and organized; expired goods need to be recorded and disposed of in the proper manner
Responsible for clean up of kitchen after all meals and sanitization
Adheres to the licensing and accreditation Policies and Procedures
Make sure all plates and cooking utensils are clean and safe to use.
Review production menus prior to preparation of each meal to assure that all food items, including foods for modified menu items, are available at time of service.
Review meals for the following days to ensure that food and supplies are readily available and coordinate with kitchen assistant if food items will need to be prepared ahead of time.
Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all times.
Establishes controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft.
Safeguards all food preparation employees by implementing training to increase their knowledge about safety, sanitation and accident prevention principles.
Develops standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation which help to assure consistently high quality and to minimize food costs; exercises portion control for all items served.
Maintain daily Food/Temperature logs
Maintain updated Menu Binder with the daily menu
Attends monthly food management meetings
Evaluates food products to assure that quality standards are consistently attained
Must be flexible, adaptable, receptive to feedback and willing to make improvements
Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
Perform other duties as directed.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
