Overview In this role you lead the Airframe Liaison Engineering team to advance composite-rich airframe solutions for GA-ASI platforms. You operate with limited direction, setting technical objectives and guiding design and verification efforts. You act as a bridge between engineering groups and production, ensuring compliant, well-documented solutions and timely updates. You also mentor staff, drive change management, and support on-site manufacturing and integration activities at Adelanto, with potential oversight at other sites. This is a hands-on leadership position shaping how we resolve complex aerostructure challenges. Compensation / Benefitsrelocation assistance provided ResponsibilitiesLead a 4–5 person team of liaison engineers and design assurance specialistsCreate, investigate, and execute Change Requests (CR) and Change Notifications (CN) for composite drawings and specsBrief CR/CN outcomes to Change Control Board (CCB) stakeholdersServe as MRB engineer for nonconforming production partsCoordinate with Airframe Integrity Group, Material & Process, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Engineering and Quality Engineering to resolve issuesIdentify root causes of engineering/manufacturing problems and drive independent resolutionsClarify drawing intent on the production floor and support tactical department executionMentor, develop, and train personnel; participate in planning and talent developmentProvide on-site support for Adelanto operations and oversee activities at other high desert facilitiesParticipate in personnel attraction, selection, retention, and development to match business needsPerform other duties as assignedMaintain compliance with laws, regulations, and safety standardsCommunicate findings and present technical information as needed Key requirementsBachelors, Masters, or PhD in engineering or related discipline with progressive engineering experience9+ years with a Bachelor's, 7+ years with a Master's, or 4+ years with a PhDThorough understanding of engineering concepts, codes, and theory with broad applicabilityBackgrounds in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace engineering desiredPrior management experience leading a team in engineering or manufacturingExperience interpreting engineering drawings with emphasis on composite lamination and airframe integrationAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExcellent verbal and written communication, and technical presentation skillsExperience in aircraft development and composite manufacturingLEAN manufacturing knowledge desiredGD&T ANSI Y-14.5M knowledgeCREO Parametric/NX (or similar CAD) proficiencyBasic project management knowledgeAbility to work extended hours and handle diverse, complex problemsAbility to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance requiredExcellent verbal and written communicationTechnical presentation skillsLeadership and mentoringCREO Parametric/NX or similar CAD softwareGD&T ANSI Y-14.5MComposite lamination and airframe integration
