The team is an integrated, multi-disciplinary group that is fast-moving and looking for motivated individuals that can contribute and collaborate closely with the team to deliver innovative solutions. As a member of the SCI team, you will solve some of the most exciting problems in the distributed energy space and help shape the direction of our products.The Enphase SCI team is seeking a Staff Power Electronics Systems Integration and Modeling Engineer to develop, integrate, and validate system and component control and integration approaches for next generation system products and improve current designs.What you will doDevelop and validate detailed electro-magnetic transient (EMT) simulation models that integrate power electronics systems, power systems, and control systems using PSCAD and other related modeling toolsImplement custom control logic and integrate custom-defined models within EMT modelsPerform EMT studies focusing on stability, fault analysis, protection coordination, transient response, and performance evaluation of power electronics systems integrated in power system models of grid-interconnected sites with on-site generation, energy storage, and dynamic loadParticipate in modeling for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation-based validation of power electronics systemsDevelop specifications and integration designs for external control interfaces, sensing, electrical protection, and power system integration of power electronics productsWho you are and What you bringBS/MS/PhD Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline with modeling and energy system experience.Job title and position level will be determined upon the candidate's experienceMinimum experience for a Senior Engineer: BS and 5+ years of relevant experience / MS and 3+ years / PhDMinimum experience for a Staff Engineer: BS and 8+ years relevant experience / MS and 6+ years / PhD and 3+ yearsCandidates with greater levels of experience may be considered and are encouraged to applyStrong experience developing and integrating dynamical models for power electronics systems, power systems, generators, dynamic loads, and/or HVDC systemsExperience performing EMT simulations for stability, fault analysis, and protection coordinationProficiency with EMT-based software tools (e.g., PSCAD, PowerFactory, EMTP, Simulink/Simscape Electrical, RTDS, Hypersim, or similar tools)Ability to understand control logic written in C, C++, or pythonFamiliarity with grid codes, renewable integration, and inverter-based resourcesAbility to take ownership of development tasks and drive them to completion in a timely manner and with high quality to support team successAdditional Desired SkillsExperience with HIL simulation-based validationFamiliarity with control and optimization approaches (e.g., phased-lock loops, closed-loop control systems, droop control, filtering and estimation, system identification, etc.) to energy systemsKnowledge of power system integration codes and standards such as IEEE 2800, UL 1741, and IEEE 1547Travel* Occasional travel domesticallyWork location* Hybrid position (at least 3 days in the office per week) based in Austin, TXThe base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $151,000. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
