Additionally, employees are considered for performance-based cash incentive awards.What Is the Opportunity?In this role, you will manage first-party property claims under moderate supervision. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, estimating, and negotiating claims to ensure optimal resolutions for personal or business property claims of moderate severity and complexity. These claims may include low-severity building damage and personal property losses due to a range of causes. You will ensure compliance with internal standards and state regulations throughout the entire claims process.What Will You Do?Manage assigned first-party property claims with moderate severity and complexity.Determine accurate damage scopes for property losses to support written estimates.Utilize innovative technologies extensively in claim processes.Thoroughly investigate claims, analyzing relevant documents to determine coverage, damages, and liability.Establish and maintain accurate claim and expense reserves.Utilize independent judgment to determine appropriate settlement amounts, ensuring compliance with policy limits and deductibles.Negotiate settlements within your authority limits.Draft denial letters, Reservations of Rights, and other intricate correspondence.Evaluate damages properly and utilize cost evaluation tools effectively.Meet quality standards as outlined in the Knowledge Guides.Maintain an organized diary system to capture all necessary data and document claims accurately.Ensure timely resolution of claims by managing file inventories.Adhere to state regulations in file management as required.Deliver excellent customer service to meet the needs of insured individuals and business partners.Recognize claims that may require referral to specialized units within Travelers.Identify and refer cases with significant exposure to management.Perform administrative functions as needed, including expense tracking and time-off reporting.Support cross-functional claims handling when necessary.Assist in training and mentoring newly hired claim professionals.Participate in legal proceedings as needed.Maintain company credit card as required.Obtain and maintain necessary Insurance Licenses to comply with state and Travelers policies promptly.Complete other assigned duties.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Bachelor's Degree.2+ years of experience in inside property claim handling.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Intermediate organization and time management abilities.Ability to work independently.Good judgment and analytical decision-making skills.Negotiation expertise.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Intermediate investigative skills.Ability to analyze and determine coverage issues and damages.Ability to resolve claims within your settlement authority.What is a Must Have?High School Diploma or GED.One year of prior inside property claim handling experience or successful completion of Travelers Inside Claim Representative training program.What Is in It for You?Health Insurance: Immediate coverage for employees and eligible family members.Retirement: Generous 401(k) match and pension plan fully funded by Travelers.Paid Time Off: Start with a minimum of 20 days of paid time off annually, plus nine paid holidays.Wellness Program: Access tools, discounts, and resources to support your wellness goals.Volunteer Encouragement: Get involved in your community with matching gifts and volunteer rewards.Employment PracticesTravelers is an equal opportunity employer, valuing diverse talents and perspectives.
