Mountain Bike Camp Counselor Summer 2024

Job description We are Kids Dojo and we are looking for Summer Drivers. www.kidsdojo.org. We are searching for the trifecta of a person who can drive a van, count kids and likes to ride. This position will be working out of the South Bay Area. You will need a CDL but we will pay for it. General Responsibilities: Show up on time and stay until the last child is picked up. Provide leadership and guidance on and off the trail Maintain a positive working relationship with other staff and maintain an enthusiastic attitude daily with the children Observe children’s behavior and enforce appropriate safety regulations. Have specific consequences for bad behavior Teach basic riding skills, including shifting, breaking, and cornering. Teach these on the trail and work with them at the Pump Track on these skills Review the Rules everyday with the kids before getting off the bus and make sure you follow the daily checklist. Specific Responsibilities: Set a positive example in exercise, riding, and attitude. Your number one job is to make sure the kids are safe and having fun. Be a leader to each individual in your group Follow daily agenda that outlines trails and locations. If you need to alter it based on the children work with the home office to come up with an alternative plan. Reinforce trail and cycling safety regulations. Observe each camper daily and check for cuts, bruises, skin rashes, poison oak/ivy or other indications of illness or injury and check in with parents if there are any issues. Help the campers with daily self-maintenance tasks: i.e., collecting their supplies, making sure they have lunches and water, helmet and snacks before they get on the bus. Keep camp supplies and equipment in good shape. Maintain first aid and bike supplies.
