The Human Resources Director serves as a key member of the Human Resources team for a growing in-home senior services organization employing a largely field-based caregiver workforce and Adult Daycare staff. This role uniquely bridges HR operations and HR business partnership — providing hands-on build out and execution of core HR processes while serving as a trusted advisor to managers and field leadership. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of employment law, HRIS systems, and employee relations, paired with the business acumen to align people practices with organizational goals in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.Compensation & Benefits$90,000 – $125,000 annual base salary commensurate with experience.Exempt position.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and company holidays.Professional development supportCore ResponsibilitiesMaintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA, state wage-and-hour regulations) as applied to a multi-state caregiver workforce.Administer leave programs including FMLA, state leave, and accommodations under the ADA; partner with managers on return-to-work and modified duty arrangements.Ensure HR policies and practices comply with applicable regulations; support handbook updates and policy dissemination.Maintain required employment records, files, and audit-ready documentation in accordance with legal retention requirements.Serve as an HRIS super-user and system administrator; maintain data integrity, process status changes, and generate recurring and ad hoc reports for leadership.Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned business units and field operations leaders, providing day-to-day guidance on employee issues and performance management.Coach and advise managers on employee performance issues, corrective action, and development conversations; ensure consistent application of HR policies across locations.Partner with operations to interpret workforce data and trends, identifying proactive solutions to turnover, engagement, and staffing challenges common in in-home care.Lead investigations of employee complaints, policy violations, and workplace conduct issues from intake through resolution and documentation; escalate complex matters appropriately.Maintain and improve onboarding workflows and I-9 compliance processes for a high-volume caregiver population in coordination with recruiting.Track and analyze HR metrics (turnover, time-to-fill, absenteeism, headcount) and present findings to HR leadership with recommendations. Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll changes, garnishments, shift differentials, and caregiver overtime calculations.Partner with recruiters or hiring managers on caregiver and corporate requisitions, including job posting, interview coordination, offer letters, and pre-employment screening.Contribute to employer brand and retention initiatives targeting the caregiver workforce (referral programs, recognition, onboarding experience enhancements).QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field5–8 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or HRBP capacity, with demonstrated responsibility across multiple HR disciplinesWorking knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law; experience supporting a distributed or field-based hourly workforce strongly preferredExperience with HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG/Kronos, Paycom, ADP Workforce Now, Paychex); ability to learn new systems quicklyProven ability to conduct workplace investigations and manage complex employee relations matters with appropriate judgment and discretionStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present HR data and recommendations to non-HR audiencesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPointPreferredSHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certificationExperience in home health, home care, assisted living, or other regulated healthcare servicesFamiliarity with caregiver-specific compliance requirements (state background check regulations, EVV, caregiver registries)Experience supporting a workforce of 500–2,000+ employees across multiple locations
