Attorney – Real Estate LitigationMain Office: Irvine, CAEmployment Type: Full-TimeCompensation: $180,000 – $240,000 annually (commensurate with experience) + performance-based bonusAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Attorney with 4–15 years of litigation experience, specifically in real estate and complex business litigation, to join our growing practice. This position is remote within California, with the firm's main office located in Newport Beach.This role offers the opportunity to manage high-value, complex litigation matters involving land-use disputes, business conflicts, property rights, and municipal-related issues. The ideal candidate thrives in a strategic litigation environment, takes ownership of cases, and delivers exceptional results for sophisticated clients with multimillion-dollar real estate assets.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a diverse caseload of complex real estate and business litigation mattersDevelop and drive litigation strategy aligned with client objectivesDraft and respond to discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission)Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnessesDraft and argue motions, including dispositive motions and motions in limineRepresent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and civil trialsServe as first or second chair in trial as warrantedOversee trial preparation, calendar management, and key litigation deadlinesEngage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolutionProvide strategic legal advice regarding litigation risks and exposureManage client communications, reporting, and budgeting for ongoing mattersCollaborate with senior leadership on case strategy and firm initiativesQualifications4–15 years of litigation experience, with a strong emphasis in real estate litigationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive membership in the California State Bar in good standingStrong knowledge of California civil procedure, evidence, and substantive real estate lawProven experience drafting and responding to complex discoveryExperience taking and defending depositionsTrial experience (first or second chair preferred)Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and consistently meet deadlinesExceptional legal writing, analytical, and research skillsAbility to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with a teamExperience working with municipalities, land-use matters, or complex property disputes is a plusBillable Expectations & Bonus StructureExpected annual billable requirement: approximately 1,700 hoursPerformance-based bonus opportunities for exceeding billable expectationsAdditional opportunities for administrative growth projects and strategic firm initiativesBenefitsCompetitive compensation packagePerformance-based annual bonusHealth and dental coverage (HMO and PPO options)Vision, long-term disability, and AD&D coverageGenerous vacation, paid holidays, and sick leaveSimple IRA retirement plan with employer contributionHybrid flexibilityEOE
