Accounting Manager

Position OverviewThe Accounting Manager will be a "hands-on" leader responsible for the modernization and oversight of all financial operations. You will play a critical role in professionalizing internal controls, leading an ERP implementation and supporting the executive team with strategic financial insights. This is a 40-hour-per-week, fully in-office role suited for a professional who values a stable, kind and service-oriented work environment while seeking a clear, defined path to the C-suite.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Reporting Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/accounts receivable and general ledger management. Lead the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statement preparation. Manage multi-state sales tax compliance and filings Facilitate payroll processing through external providers for both office and field personnel. Partner with the retiring CFO to ensure a seamless transition of financial knowledge and strategic oversight. Strategy, Budgeting & Treasury Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing variance analysis to leadership. Manage cash flow and treasury functions to optimize working capitalDevelop ad-hoc financial reporting and KPIs to improve operational decision-making. Lead the upcoming ERP implementation and transition from legacy software to a modern platform. Operational Oversight & Process Improvement Audit and strengthen internal control structures to safeguard company assets. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency within the accounting department. Manage and mentor a team of junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of internal customer service and professional growth. Support corporate compliance and administrative functions as neededQualificationsTechnical Requirements Active CPA License: This is a firm requirement for candidates tracking toward the CFO position. Experience: Over 10 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience. Company Scale: Prior experience working within a $20M – $50M organization is preferred. Public Accounting: A background in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) is highly ideal. Systems: Demonstrated experience leading an ERP Implementation is strongly preferred; exposure to SAGE 100 is a plus.
