OverviewThis position sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.The OpportunityThe Intern will work closely with senior developers to build and maintain applications using a combination of standard application development technologies in a modern scaled agile environment. The Intern will also work with Software Engineers in Test to develop test strategies, create / update test automation code, execute tests (both automated and manual), and analyze / troubleshoot defects. Technologies include React/Redux, C#, Python, and Java.ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Be DoingParticipate in product development in a team of professional Software EngineersPairing with Senior Engineers / SDETs to learn how we build and deliver world class solutionsCollaborate with Product Owners, UX Designers, and Engineering leaders to create solutions that delight our customersLearn modern software delivery / testing practices for creating high-value, high-quality softwareEmploy techniques like Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)Gain product and application expertise through product documentation, internal collaboration, and customer feedbackCreate clear and concise documentation for all engineering workDevelop test strategies / plans / scenarios and acceptance testsDesign, build, and execute test cases, including manual and automated frontend / backend tests on one or more application platforms, such as Desktop and WebCreate and maintain automated tests in Python / PytestAnalyze, troubleshoot, and report test resultsIntegrate test automation into CI/CD pipelinesActively participate in design and code reviews to design and implement stable, testable, high-quality services and functionalityOperate within an Agile framework, adapting to iterative development cycles and contributing to team ceremoniesPursue continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of industry standards and new technologiesThis job description in no way implies that the duties listed here are the only ones that team members can be required to performQualificationsWhat You Bring to the TeamCurrently working on a BS degree in Computer Sciences, programming, or a related disciplineAn enthusiasm for learning real-world software development practicesFamiliarity with software development employing one or more of the following technologiesJavaScriptReact/ReduxC#PythonJavaFundamental understanding of programming and Object-Oriented Programming Principles, Data Structures, and AlgorithmsGood verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsSound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential informationPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.This position is hybrid with only occasional travel to the office for team meetings and events.
