HVAC TECHNICIAN

This role is critical in ensuring exceptional indoor comfort, air quality, and system performance across all guest and operational spaces.The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and understands the importance of delivering a seamless, world-class guest experience through behind-the-scenes excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain, repair, and install HVAC systems throughout the resort, including:Guest rooms and suitesFine dining restaurants, bars, and commercial kitchensSpa, wellness, and fitness facilitiesBallrooms, conference spaces, and event venuesBack-of-house and administrative areasPerform preventative maintenance on chillers, air handlers, split systems, package units, and ventilation systemsMonitor and maintain indoor air quality, humidity levels, and temperature controlRespond promptly and professionally to HVAC-related service calls and guest concernsTroubleshoot system issues, perform diagnostics, and complete repairs efficientlyMaintain and repair cooling towers, pumps, and refrigeration systems as applicableEnsure compliance with all safety standards and Florida/local codesUtilize Building Management Systems to monitor and adjust performanceSupport energy efficiency and sustainability initiativesCollaborate on system upgrades and capital improvement projectsMaintain accurate service records and equipment logsPerform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of EngineeringQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDCompletion of an accredited HVAC apprenticeship program or equivalent experienceMinimum of 4 years of hands-on HVAC experience (commercial or hospitality preferred)Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and refrigeration cyclesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsExcellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysCertificationsEPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred)Journeyman-level experienceValid driver's licenseOSHA 10 or 30 (preferred)Preferred ExperienceExperience in hotels, resorts, or large commercial propertiesFamiliarity with:Chilled water systems and large-scale HVAC equipmentDehumidification systems in coastal environmentsKitchen ventilation and refrigeration systemsBuilding Management SystemsExperience working in high humidity and salt-air environmentsStrong customer service mindset with the ability to interact professionally with guestsExperience supporting large events and high-occupancy operationsWork EnvironmentLuxury beachfront setting with exposure to sun, humidity, salt air, and varying weather conditionsRequires extensive walking, accessing rooftops, mechanical rooms, and confined spacesMay involve lifting heavy equipment and working at heightsFast-paced, guest-focused environment requiring professionalism and discretionCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly wage based on experienceComprehensive benefits package, including:Health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holiday pay401(k)Employee discounts on resort amenities, dining, and accommodations
