Wastewater Project Designer

IMEG is hiring a Wastewater Project Designer in Rock Island, IL, to lead civil design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low- to moderate-complexity projects and support delivery of larger, high-complexity work alongside senior staff. In this role, you'll work closely with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering analysis, field inspections, technical reports, permit applications, and site drainage and grading designs, with a focus on supporting wastewater-related project needs where applicable. You'll also help manage budgets, mentor others, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal Responsibilities
Direct and train Civil Design Technicians to support completion of project reports, exhibits, plans and specifications, and permit applications per contractual scopeLead design efforts for the analysis and civil site design of commercial, residential, and industrial projectsUtilize engineering software and tools to develop designs, specifications, and calculations per code requirements and IMEG standardsComplete and oversee permit applications in coordination with the project team, client, and reviewing jurisdictionSupport projects through bidding and construction administrationInteract with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information; build and maintain client relationships through professional communicationLead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectivesDocument design decisions and client instructions; monitor design progress relative to percent complete and fee expendedAnalyze engineering problems and develop practical, efficient solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultantsPrioritize safety and regulatory compliance; interpret and apply state and local design criteria to project needsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions and escalate potential project issues to the Project Manager as neededRequired Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of industry standard engineering software, primarily Civil 3DProficient with pipe networking and road corridors.Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsStrong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in the civil engineering fieldAbility to train and mentor less experienced staffAble to lead teams with others that utilize industry standard software that assists with civil engineering analysis and designExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skills Eagerness to adapt to new challengesBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent requiredEngineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industryOR

State of Illinois Salary Range: $77,000 - $98,000Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
