Junior Project Manager - Commercial HVAC Projects
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects in a hands-on subcontractor environment with growing ownership of execution. This role focuses on supporting HVAC installations, piping systems, and field coordination while learning to manage projects from kickoff through closeout. The position is ideal for a junior-level professional or Project Engineer ready to step into a project management track within a fast-paced, smaller contractor setting. This role plays a key part in supporting active projects and building future project leadership capacity.ResponsibilitiesSupport the execution of commercial HVAC and mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeoutAssist with coordinating field crews, subcontractors, and internal teams across active job sitesHelp track project schedules, costs, and progress while escalating issues as neededRead and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documentsAssist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentationCoordinate with vendors and support procurement of materials and equipmentCommunicate with clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to support project flowParticipate in jobsite visits to monitor progress and support field operationsRequirements2-5 years of experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction (APM, Project Engineer, or similar role)Exposure to commercial HVAC systems (residential-only experience will not be considered)Background working for a mechanical contractor, HVAC subcontractor, or related environmentAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specificationsStrong interest in growing into a full Project Manager roleBasic understanding of project scheduling and cost tracking toolsMust be comfortable working in a hands-on, small to mid-sized contractor environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsBenefitsCompensation: Competitive salary based on experience.Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
