Role description Role Summary We are looking for a Data Engineer / Database Cloud Architect with expertise in databases, cloud platforms, and data architecture. The ideal candidate will design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions across AWS, GCP, and Oracle environments while supporting AI/ML and Generative AI initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design enterprise database architectures, standards, and best practices. Build scalable data platforms, pipelines, and cloud-native database solutions. Lead database modernization and cloud migration initiatives. Optimize database performance, availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery. Define database security, governance, and compliance standards. Collaborate with architects, developers, cloud engineers, and data scientists. Develop automation and data processing solutions using Python. Support AI/ML and GenAI use cases, including vector databases and RAG architectures. Create architecture documentation, technical standards, and solution designs. Mentor teams and provide technical leadership on database and cloud technologies. Must-Have Skills Strong experience in Data Engineering and Database Architecture. Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL (primary requirement). Experience with Oracle Database. Strong SQL, data modeling, query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization. Experience with cloud platforms: AWS and/or GCP. Database migration and modernization experience. Python scripting for automation and data processing. Knowledge of high availability, replication, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery. Experience designing scalable cloud-native database solutions. Strong understanding of application and database integration architecture. Good-to-Have Skills Couchbase, MongoDB, MySQL, SQL Server. AI/ML and Generative AI exposure. Vector Databases, Embeddings, Semantic Search, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation). Database observability and monitoring tools. Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD practices. Data governance, compliance, privacy, and security frameworks. Experience with cloud AI services and AI platforms. Experience supporting large-scale, high-volume enterprise systems. Preferred Candidate Profile 8+ years in Database Engineering, Data Engineering, or Database Architecture. Strong PostgreSQL and Oracle expertise. Experience across AWS and/or GCP cloud environments. Proficient in Python and modern data engineering practices. Familiarity with AI-enabled data architectures and GenAI technologies.
