The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during the evening and overnight hours, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out process for guests and team members. This role also involves auditing daily financial transactions, ensuring accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service to all guests during the night shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform check-in and check-out procedures for guests and team members, ensuring accuracy and efficient processing
Audit all daily transactions, including guest accounts, billing, and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
Reconcile cash and credit transactions, addressing discrepancies and making necessary corrections to maintain accurate financial records
Provide information and assist guests with inquiries regarding services, amenities, and the surrounding area
Handle guest concerns or issues in a professional and timely manner, escalating matters to the appropriate department if necessary
Prepare and distribute reports on room occupancy, revenue, and other operational data for management review
Ensure the security and safety of the hotel or event venue during the night shift by monitoring surveillance systems and responding to emergency situations
Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area, ensuring that it is welcoming for guests
Assist with administrative duties, including filing, updating guest records, and processing payments
Follow all safety and security procedures to ensure guest and team member safety during overnight hours
Qualifications:
Previous experience in front desk operations or as a night auditor in a hospitality or event setting is preferred
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, with experience in auditing, billing, and financial reconciliation
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle guest concerns effectively
Ability to work independently during the night shift and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
Proficiency in using hotel management software and general office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, point of sale systems)
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and a focus on accuracy
Ability to handle cash, credit transactions, and financial reports with integrity
Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
Perform other duties as assigned
