Product Development EngineerDirect Hire | Armada, MI | $85K–$110KWe’re recruiting for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer opportunity with a growing product-focused manufacturing company that designs and builds real-world mechanical products used across the country.This is not a highly siloed OEM engineering role. The team is looking for an engineer who enjoys being involved in the full product lifecycle, from early concept and prototyping through testing, manufacturing, and production launch.The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and highly hands-on. Engineers work closely with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, and Product Management to ensure products are functional, manufacturable, cost-effective, and practical for real-world use.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, building prototypes, improving designs, and thinking beyond just CAD work.What You’ll Be DoingLead mechanical product development projects from concept through production launchDesign components and assemblies in SolidWorksBuild and test prototypes using in-house 3D printing and CNC equipmentApply DFMA principles to improve manufacturability, assembly, cost, and scalabilityCollaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and product teamsSolve practical engineering challenges related to production, installation, usability, and shippingSupport continuous improvement and product enhancement initiativesWhat We're Looking For3+ years of mechanical product development experienceCradle-to-grave product design experienceStrong 3D CAD experience, preferably SolidWorksPractical understanding of machining and manufacturing processesExperience designing products with manufacturability and assembly in mindSomeone who enjoys hands-on engineering and broader product ownershipStrong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and willingness to think creativelyHelpful BackgroundsCandidates from smaller product development environments, aftermarket products, custom equipment, machinery, or hands-on manufacturing companies tend to align especially well with this team.
